Disappointment

First off, I have gotten two fantastic items in the mail in the past couple days. First, a remote control for my camera, and my 50mm 1.8 lens. All well and good, right? No.

When I was looking into ordering a remote control, I made sure that it would be compatible with the Digital Rebels. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that my XS is incompatible with wireless remotes. Amazon, who I ordered from, did not make any distinction between different models, so I did not think there was a problem. My user manual, however, does state right in there that the RC-1 is incompatible. Major bummer.

I think I will sell it to one of my coworkers. She just got an XSi. That's the one redeeming part of it, that I don't have to look far to find it a new home. I don't see much point in keeping it. I doubt that it would be compatible if I ever move up in camera body models.

But onto the 50mm lens! I am really glad now that I went with the f1.8 and not 1.4 or even 1.2 (a lot more expensive) The 1.8 is overkill, I think. Just looking at that photo I posted. The manual focus is a lot of fun to play with on it, but man, it doesn't leave much in focus. Great bokeh, which is becoming my love, but just a tad too much. I am still playing with it all. Not sure how much I am going to adore it, but it's pretty snazzy.
