My Birthday Post - 2 Months Late!

I wasn't thrilled to be working on my birthday, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. I love my coworkers and they made it an enjoyable day, like most work days :) The coworker I wasn't working with that day came in and brought me these potted flowers! COLOR in the middle of winter!

And she brought donuts!!

My boss bought a German chocolate cake which was divine!

As a St. Patrick's Day baby, I grew up with lots of green food on my birthday (which I adored :P) and the tradition had to continue with our favorite mint cookies.

After work, we did a quick (like 2 minute) photoshoot in breezy, cold sunshine.

And then we headed to dinner :)

To the Mermaid Cafe we went, and ended up with a pizza. I watched the sun starting to set after we were done, so I dropped C off at home and headed back to the beach for a lovely birthday sunset!

It was a treat!! I expected the northern lights that night as well, but that did not pan out. It was still a great day :)

Snow Just Keeps Coming!

I had an excellent birthday! I haven't edited the photos yet, but it was great! When I finally get to them, I'll give a recap....hopefully it won't be too long from now!

Life has been busy in my neck of the woods. Seemed like last week was a whirlwind of appointments, and small stressors. I hung out with a friend for a scrapbooking date, and it was wonderful. She and I both had not scrapbooked since the last time we got together....around a year ago *wince*.

Winter continues to hang on here. The rest of the country seems to be having a wonderful spring, and temperatures way above normal, but we are having a typical winter here. I have not seen any official numbers for snowfall for the winter yet, but the local paper has gotten us a bit closer, and it is insane! My favorite part is the description of how the tallest snow berms may stick around until the end of JULY. We have had several nice, teasing days here, and the next day we get several more inches of snow. I'm tired of it, but not getting worked up over it like some locals. It is, of course, snowing today :)

The next couple weeks are set to be busy as well. We've got the local high school play to attend, a dinner with friends, C's little brother coming for a visit, and our 4th anniversary. And that's just what I am aware of today!

I hope you weekend is wonderful!

My birthday!

Happy to report it is my 24th birthday today! I probably will not have a chance to update any more for the day, and current plans are not set in stone, but I plan to have a great day :)

C's Birthday

Wednesday, we woke up to more snow that we had to shovel. I am officially tired of snow this winter, and we are nowhere near done yet! And it is also nowhere near what Valdez and Cordova have had, which I am thankful for! It was 1F when we were shoveling, and we had a wind chill down to -22F! It didn't feel nearly that cold, though, so that was nice.
We had a winter weather advisory that day, and there was nothing I needed to take care of that day, so we just stayed home while the wind and snow blew around. Youth group was cancelled halfway through the day due to the weather, which was nice. We stayed in and watched Star Trek.
Thursday morning was C's birthday! We had even more snow, so we had to shovel the driveway again. What a birthday treat!
C had a lazy afternoon, working on projects. For dinner, we left home in the midst of the snow storm that was still going on. We went out for pizza with friends, and I was a bit concerned that we might not make it! A white out most of the way was not fun.
We had a nice dinner, with leftovers to bring home, and lots of new snow in the hour and a half or so we'd been dining!
C had a nice day, so that was good. We both had three days off together this week, so it was a fun extended weekend for it!

Mom's Birthday

Yesterday, it was my mom's birthday. C and I went out to my parents' house for lunch. My dad was feeling under the weather, so he ended up sleeping most of the time we were there.
I got some much needed kitty loving in :)
It occurred to me last year some time that I don't have a single picture with just mom and me. I sought to remedy that finally!
It was a nice afternoon, and I'm glad we got to do it :)

23!

It's my birthday!! 23! Two more years until I can rent a car! :P In honor of my favorite color, I am posting a blue image :)
Frozen slush!
Here's to hoping there is no more snow this winter! (Ha! That's a joke!)

C's Birthday!

It was C's birthday earlier this week! I asked him what he wanted for breakfast: Safeway run for build your own sandwiches, chow mein and sesame chicken. He doesn't ask for much, I guess! Oh and we opened the sparkling cider we had too :) Wouldn't have been what I wanted for breakfast but it was his choice :)
He wanted peanut butter brownies (from a box) for his cake.
All in all, he had a good day. We didn't do too much but that's how he likes it!

Moose at the Beach

I was walking back to my car after shooting the sunset from yesterday's post, and saw movement in the trees. It was getting dark, but I set the camera back on the tripod and hoped the moose would not move.
I got lucky and got a couple good shots :)

Happy birthday to my mother today!

Dad's Birthday

Saturday, May 1, was my dad's birthday. C and I went out for dinner with the rest of the family in town. My sister in law made this incredible German chocolate cake.

Mom and I took several photos.
We had a good seat in the restaurant and watched the eagles outside. There were people fishing, so we watched the eagles snatch fish from the water and then fight over them. A sea otter floated by several times as well, so we had great dinner entertainment.

The cake my sister in law made was incredible. Very elegant, and extremely tasty!

22nd Birthday

Yesterday was my 22nd birthday! It was a gorgeous day (it usually is on the 17th, for some reason!) and a walk on the beach with C was in order.

I found all kinds of treasures on the beach. And like 4 or 5 china hats!

Standing on a block of snow that broke and was promptly in the waves!

We went to dinner with some friends and we got a slice of molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Because it was my birthday, the waitress gave it to us for free! The candle was interesting, because she had melted the wax so it just stood upright on the plate on its own! Pretty clever!

It was a wonderful day :)

C's Birthday

C had a lovely birthday on Tuesday.

We slept in late and had a lazy morning. We met Redhead and her Canadian for lunch at a local restaurant we had not been to in a long time. Unfortunately I did not take any photos of any of these times.

Went up to Redhead's house to play some games for a couple hours. We came home and had a lazy afternoon.

I got C a sweatshirt and I was quite pleased that he was pleased with it (he can be particular about somethings) We ended the day with some pumpkin pie that my mom made for him!

Mom's Birthday

Today was my mom's birthday!

We had a family dinner with the 8 of us in town today at the Chinese buffet. A good time was had by all. I just wish I had taken more photos of everyone!

It's C's birthday on Tuesday and so we'll be doing a celebration then too :)

Birthday recap

I turned 21 yesterday. Usually, birthdays don't make me feel any older, but I actually did for this one a bit. Like, now I can get a hotel room for sure on my own.

Anyway, the day started off with me winning a camera on ebay! $445, which was about the lowest I saw on the internet. I also spent the day trying to be artistic with my camera...

Then two good friends called, which made me happy. Also got a call from my sister and my niece!

C and I went bowling with the Red Head and the Canadian. Some other friends were there as well, so we did a bit of socializing, but not too much, just bowling! My mom came to town and stuck her head in to say hi.

We played two games and I managed to just barely win the second game, but not with any skill, especially because the boys ended up just playing around that game and trying left handed bowling, bowling under their legs, etc.

After bowling, we went out for pizza and bread sticks at our favorite pizza place. And from there, we went up to the Red Head's house to make a cake and watched a movie.

All in all, it was a very fun day and I am 21!
