Spring Break Adventures

I was concerned that I would not have much of a spring break. I still had homework due until Wednesday.

Sunday, I started to let myself consciously take a break. That was really nice!

Monday, I had a big assignment to finish up, and once I did, I went off to take some photos :) It was a glorious day and the harbor was looking amazing. After we went to our small group, C and I picked up his youngest brother. Wasn't exactly the highlight of my week, but it was fine.

Tuesday, C's brother was still over, when Redhead invited me for beach time. Another gorgeous day, that the beach could not be passed up.

Wednesday, my birthday! An all around great day. More gorgeous weather.

Thursday, I got to scrapbook with my scrappin' buddy. The weather turned wet, but it was alright.

Friday, I made a trip to my hometown to see a friend and her new baby. The weather started to clear up again!

Saturday, work.

Sunday, the usual.

Might not really sound like I had a fantastic week, but I really did. It was spent doing things I wanted to do and I didn't feel guilty not doing school!

Scrapbooking!

Thursday afternoon, I spent 3 hours scrapbooking! I have not scrapbooked since February or March. I basically hit "scrapping block" mainly due to being fascinated with photography and not with scrapbooking the images. I did three pages there. Then last night, I did three more pages. I love the last one the best. Feel free to click on the images to see them!

I was also noticing yet another reason I don't want kids! 1 toddler and two infants were involved in this day and oh boy, their moms got hardly any pages done! I like being productive without interruptions ;)

Siblings coming over

I have to take an accounting exam in the morning, and we are having a blizzard practically, so we decided to stay home from small group tonight. We decided we would cook some steak that has been in our fridge several days. As we were contemplating it, our phone rang, and sister in law was calling. She wanted to know if she could come over, along with brother in law and 2 friends...so they came over for like 40 minutes and ate steak with us. It turned out well, so that we didn't have to eat or save 3 of them. So it was fun/random, and now they are gone, leaving a whirlwind of a mess in their wake, but whatever. Hospitality, I guess.

The 10 page paper ended up being about 5. It had to be single spaced, and I just can't do 10 pages single spaced! But it's over and done with now. Now I have about 4 things left to do this week, and I am done with this semester! I am hoping to be finished by Thursday.

I got to scrapbook a page last night! I can't wait to do some more. I also worked on a bit of my to do list, as well.

That's all for now.

Scrapbooks

Dawn at Joys of Boys made an interesting scrapbooking post. So I'm taking her idea (well, not really her idea as she got it from someone else) and answering the questions here.
  • How many albums have you made?
  • How long have you been scrap booking?
  • Where do you like to buy your scrap booking supplies?
*Goes to count* I have completed six 12x12 albums with most having 30 pages or more, and am working on two. One of those albums is one I made of concerts I have been to. Four of them are just my life, from birth to current. The last one I finished is one I made about C and I - from the beginning until we got engaged. We displayed that one at our wedding reception and the guests loved it!
Right now I am working on another album about current life. I have it up until this past summer. I also am working on my wedding album. It involves everything wedding related, and I am continuing it as the next "us" book.

It's hard to devote time to scrapping during the school year. I feel bad about doing something that I want to when I have piles of homework to do.

I love scrapbooking because it calms me down and lets me create something permanent with all of the hundreds of photos I take.

I've been scrapping since I was pretty young. Whenever my mom became interested in it was when I did. I made pages for myself, but they turned out fairly awful. I think it was at the beginning of high school that I really became serious about it. I also redid a lot of the pages that I had started with.

I buy my supplies all kinds of places. I get my albums and pages from Creative Memories. I get my paper and stickers all places. Michael's is my favorite place, but I have to drive 4 hours to get there! We have a scrapbooking store in town, so I do go in there sometimes. I basically pick up supplies wherever I find them. It's my expensive hobby, but I think it's worth it!

I have been taking photos of my pages and uploading them to Photobucket to share with family. Here are some of my favorite pages:

If any of you scrapbook, feel free to post your experiences too!
